EIDR, or the Entertainment Identifier Registry, is a universal unique identifier system for motion pictures and television programs. The identification system uses metadata that is associated with top-level titles, edits, DVDs, encodings, clips, and mash-ups. The organization that is spearheading EIDR was founded by Movielabs, CableLabs, Comcast and Rovi.

An example of an asset code within EIDR would be: 10.5240/1489-49A2-3956-4B2D-FE16-5.
