The East River is a short tributary of the New River in Mercer County, West Virginia and a small portion of Giles County, Virginia, in the United States. Via the New, Kanawha and Ohio Rivers, it is part of the Mississippi River watershed.
The East River rises from East River Mountain near Bluefield, West Virginia and flows generally east-northeasterly through Mercer County, past the town of Oakvale. It joins the New River just after entering Virginia, at the town of Glen Lyn.
