[edit] History

Scott and Peter grew up in the Atlanta area and were a part of its hip hop scene. Pete was a radio DJ and Scott was a constant listener. Scott, Scott Herren (aka Prefuse 73, Delarosa, Piano Overlord, & Savath and Savalas) started out DJing for a small club in Atlanta, and producing hip-hop or hip hop music. Upon entering into a relationship, they decided they should create their own label with Scott making/producing music and Pete creating the graphic design.

[edit] Quote

"After jobs at Kinko's, as a bike courier, catering, washing dishes, selling herb, studio grunting and watching every one and their mother start a label of their own" the two were finally inspired to create Eastern Developments Music. The label has over 20 artists under contract including Dabrye, Daedelus, Eliot Lipp, and Ammon Contact.

They are located in BCN, Los Angeles and Atlanta.

Herren describes his label as, "less concerned with being 'on some next shit', 'blowing the fuck up', or 'changing the face of anything'. 'We're more concerned with bringing you music we think you'll feel and understand in the same way we do."
