Easterns Automotive Group (also known as Eastern Motors[1]) is an automobile dealer in the United States. The first Easterns Automotive Group dealership was opened in 1991 in Arlington, Virginia by founder Robert S. Bassam. The company currently operates 5 dealerships in the mid-Atlantic region.[1]

As of May 2008, Eastern Motors operated 16 used car dealerships and one new car franchise.[citation needed] During the 12 month period ending February 28, 2008, the company sold 20,970 used cars.[citation needed]

The typical Eastern Motors is approximately 15,000 sq ft (1,400 m2), carries an inventory of approximately 80 vehicles, and turns its inventory every 30 days.[citation needed] On average Eastern Motors employs about 15 people per location.[citation needed] More than half of the inventory is purchased directly from an auction, bank or lease return.[citation needed]

Eastern Motors advertises on television in the Washington, DC area, featuring local celebrities such as Washington Redskins linebacker Lavar Arrington, running back Clinton Portis, quarterback Jason Campbell, tight end Chris Cooley, wide receivers Santana Moss and Antwaan Randle El, Washington Capitals left winger Alex Ovechkin, and Baltimore Ravens running back Willis McGahee, linebacker Ray Lewis, as well as comedian Harland Williams, actor John Witherspoon and rappers Fat Joe and Biz Markie.

The Eastern Community Care Foundation donates in excess of $225,000 a year to the community.[2]

Eastern Motors was named "Southeast Region Dealer of the Year in 2006" by F&I magazine.[3][dead link] Easterns was also given the Award of Gratitude from The Brad Kaminsky Foundation for Brain Tumor in 2006 and 2007,[citation needed] and Bassam was named Business Leader of the Year in 2007.[citation needed]
