Ed Bus
Ed Bus is the long-serving alderman (a neighborhood representative) in the city of Chicago, Illinois, United States, and candidate for Mayor of Chicago. He is actually a satire character, joked about as running for mayor. In the current political environment, Bus represents the constituents of the 53rd Ward, where he has served for over 40 years[1]. The Ward has been drastically redrawn over the years, currently limited to the island in the middle of the intersection of Damen, Elston and Fullerton. Bus is also an active businessman in the community, with a stated annual income of $6,500,000.00 [2], exactly the same as fellow Mayoral candidate Rahm Emanuel.
Bus officially announced his campaign for Mayor of Chicago on January 14, 2011[3] promising "better schools, better health care and better pothole patching for all residents of Chicago." [3]. As of February 10, 2011 NBC Chicago lists Bus among the top six candidates for mayor[4].
