The Minister of Education in Israel is the political head of the Ministry of Education, and a member of the cabinet. The post has previously been known as the Minister of Education and Culture (1949-1977, 1984-1990, 1992-1993) and the Minister of Education, Culture and Sport (1977-1984, 1990-1992, 1993-1999, 2003-2006).
