This is a list of education institutions in Delhi, India.

In Delhi there are four central universities, five state universities and eleven deemed universities. The status of one institute, the National School of Drama, is unclear.

double-dagger The National School of Drama was granted deemed university status in 2005. However, in 2011 the status was revoked on the institute's request.[22] Its current status is unclear.

Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT):IIFT was set up in 1963 by the Government of India as an autonomous organisation to help professionalise the country's foreign trade management and increase exports by developing human resources; generating, analysing and disseminating data; and conducting research. Today it is one of India's most prestigious business schools.

IIFT has, over the years, undertaken path-breaking research studies with organisations like WTO, World Bank, UNCTAD and the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India. The Institute has also trained more than 40,000 business professionals across 30 countries in various facets of international business and trade policy via its Management Development Programmes.

Delhi University: is an Indian central university situated in Delhi, India. It is one of the prestigious universities of Asia. Established in 1922, it offers courses at the undergraduate and post-graduate level. Vice-President of India Mohammad Hamid Ansari is the Chancellor of the university. National Law University, Delhi: is a State Law University in Delhi, India. The University was established by the Government of NCT of Delhi under the provisions of National Law University Act, 2007 (Act 1 of 2008) is another premier Law University joining the band of premier Law Universities established in India. Vision of the University is to create a premier Global Legal Institute which would compete with the best within and outside India, with a view to imparting knowledge of various aspects of law to the youngsters and introduce them to wide range of opportunities in legal profession across the globe. The state of art infrastructure of University with all facilities for learning and research in law is at Sector 14, Dwarka, New Delhi.

Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University: is a State University in Delhi, India. The University was established by the Government of NCT of Delhi under the provisions of Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha Vishwavidyalaya Act, in 1998. It was set up to ease the burden of the University of Delhi which now has emerged as pioneers of education in India. Guru Gobind Singh university has different departments to impart education in disciplines like-engineering, technology, business management, medicine, pharmacy, nursing, education, and law.

Jawaharlal Nehru University: JNU was established in 1969, by an act of parliament. It was named after Jawaharlal Nehru, India's First-Prime Minister of India, and was founded by his daughter, Prime Minister Mrs. Indira Gandhi. G. Parthasarathy was appointed as the First-Vice-Chancellor of the university. The objective of the founders of this university was to make it a premier institution of higher learning for students of the erstwhile Third World countries. The university from the very beginning was meant to be a centre for Third World studies. A third objective of the university has been to promote research and teaching leading to the increasing engagement of its students and teachers in higher level academic work and national and international policy making.

All India Institute of Medical Sciences: AIIMS is considered one of the most prestigious medical schools in India and is globally recognized for providing low-cost (up to tertiary-level) medical care to a large number of patients. It was established as an institute of national importance by an Act of Parliament with the objects to develop patterns of teaching in Undergraduate and Post-graduate Medical Education in all its branches so as to demonstrate a high standard of Medical Education in India.

Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi: The Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi (located at Hauz Khas) (formerly College of Engineering & Technology Delhi), commonly known as IIT-Delhi or IIT-D , is a major college of engineering in Delhi, India. It forms a part of the league along with other IITs in India: the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, Guwahati, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras, and Roorkee.

Jamia Millia Islamia: is an Indian Central University located in Delhi. It was originally established at Aligarh in United Provinces, India in 1920. It became a Central University by an act of the Indian Parliament in 1988. In Urdu and Arabic, Jamia means University, and Millia means National. The university was established by nationalist Muslims and is secular in character. Its campus is located in South Delhi. There are no colleges affiliated to the university anywhere else. The university provides a number of courses at school, undergraduate and postgraduate level.
