Egypt Sherrod (also known as Egypt) is an American television, radio personality and the host of Property Virgins on HGTV. She is also an Atlanta based realtor and founder of The Egypt Sherrod Real Estate Group. Egypt has been featured as a real estate expert on CNBC, MSNBC, CNN, HLN and FOX Networks. As a host she has appeared on The Maury Show, The Black Carpet and the formerly syndicated Home Delivery.[1] She has also been a national radio personality, syndicated in over 60 cities, with Premiere Radio Networks. She was most recently heard on Atlanta radio station, WVEE, as the mid-day personality.[2]

Early life and education[edit]

Sherrod was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in broadcasting and telecommunications from Temple University.[3] She has also studied theater at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts.

Career[edit]

She was featured in The New York Daily News, Time Out New York, BE Magazine, Black Enterprise Magazine, Source Magazine, "Atlanta Magazine", "Kontrol Magazine", 'KING magazine, Today’s Black Woman, Today’s Black Man and various other magazines.[citation needed] She was named #2 in Radio and Records’ “Power Player on the Rise” Top 10 list,[citation needed] and also received the “Executive to Watch” Award from NABFEME (National Association of Black Female Executives in Music & Entertainment).[citation needed]

She stars in the 2012 film Life, Love, Soul.[4]

Sherrod is a licensed realtor in Atlanta and New Jersey and is the host of HGTV's Property Virgins.[5]

Personal life[edit]

Sherrod married DJ Mike Jackson (aka DJ Fadelf)[6] on September 11, 2010.[7] Jackson has a daughter from a previous relationship; Sherrod & Jackson have a daughter together, Kendall Rae Jackson, born on January 12, 2012.[8][9]
