Eklanda (“Oakland”) is a growing suburban residential area in Mölndal Municipality in Sweden. It lies just south of Gothenburg. The population of Eklanda is about 5000, mostly families with small children, typical middle class Svenssons. The buildings are built from year 1990 and on.
The only local store in Eklanda is a small convenience store called “Handlarn” (“the Dealer”). Most inhabitants have cars and prefer to buy food in big supermarkets. Handlarn is situated next to a pizzeria called Eklanda Krog (“Eklanda Tavern”).
