Emergence BioEnergy
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Emergence Bio-Energy Inc. is a Lexington, Massachusetts based startup company focused on providing power generation capabilities to rural farmers and villagers, specifically in Bangladesh. Founded by Iqbal Quadir, of GrameenPhone fame, Emergence BioEnergy plans on using a specially designed Stirling engine, in order to create small 1 kW power stations to serve individual villages rather than relying on a traditional centralized power grid.
On October 24, 2008, Emergence BioEnergy announced it received investment from Good Energies, a global renewable energy venture capital fund, to pursue its operations in the developing world.
