Er guo tou (simplified Chinese: 二锅头; traditional Chinese: 二鍋頭; pinyin: èrguōtóu; also called "Chinese white liquor" or "Chinese vodka") is a type of baijiu (distilled liquor) made from sorghum, produced in the People's Republic of China. The most common brand is Red Star Er Guo Tou Jiu. It is available in various strengths including 112 Proof, which is 56% alcohol by volume.
Er guo tou means "second distillation" (literally "head of the second pot"), which indicates its level of purity. It is a clear, potent spirit and takes six months to produce.
