Eric Harshbarger is a puzzle designer and well-known builder of large scale LEGO mosaics and sculptures. From around 2000 to 2006 he has been commissioned to build for television shows, magazines and other companies for promotional purposes. Some of his more notable commissions included a life-size functional desk for an employee at an unnamed company, a 12-foot Eiffel Tower, a bust of Conan O'Brien that appeared on the show, and a 21-colour demonstration of squaring the square. The projects regularly require several tens of thousands of bricks, and occasionally hundreds of thousands.
Harshbarger works as a puzzle designer for the Perplex City alternate reality game by Mind Candy. He no longer works for Sun Microsystems.
Harshbarger is also a competitive Scrabble player in the United States[1] and has taught mathematics at Auburn University.[2]
