Erin Manning is an American photographer, author, educator, and television personality. Her earliest encounter with photography occurred at age seven when she discovered a book entitled The Family of Man.[1]

Career[edit]

Manning's photography career began as a commercial, portrait, and stock photographer, as well as working for Getty Images. She specializes in lifestyle imagery for clients such as AT&T, Bank of America, Disney, lifestyle magazines, healthcare organizations and individuals. Erin Manning's appearance as the host of DIY Network's The Whole Picture in 2005 introduced her as the digital photo expert for the photo enthusiast].[2] She is the author of Portrait and Candid Photography and Make Money With Your Digital Photography, published by John Wiley & Sons[3][4] and hosts the DIY Network’s digital photography series The Whole Picture.[5] Prior to the launch of her TV series, she appeared as the technology and lifestyle expert on DIY Network’s Enable Your Home.[6] Manning serves on the board of directors for the Digital Imaging Marketing Association and is a member of the American Photographic Artists and the Los Angeles Digital Imaging Group.[7][8][9]

  • In October 2009, Photo Basics, a division of F. J. Westcott Company, launched the Erin Manning Home Studio Lighting Kit[25] featuring an educational DVD co-produced, written, and hosted, by Manning.
  • In February 2012, Photo Basics, a division of F. J. Westcott Company, launched the Erin Manning PocketBox Flash Softbox Kit[26] featuring an educational DVD written, and hosted, by Manning.
