The Shire of Etheridge is a Local Government Area located in Far North Queensland, Australia in what is known as the Gulf Savannah region. Its economy is based around cattle grazing and mining.
It covers an area of 39,332.3 square kilometres (15,186.3 sq mi), and has existed as a local government entity since 1882.

The Einasleigh Division was created on 11 November 1879 as one of 74 divisions around Queensland under the Divisional Boards Act 1879. With the passage of the Local Authorities Act 1902, it became a shire on 31 March 1903. On 15 March 1919, it was renamed Etheridge.
