Evander Childs High School

Not to be confused with the "Evander Childs Educational Campus" Evander Childs High School operated autonomously from 1913 until mid-2008. As part of the mayor of New York City's push of Bill Gates' "small schools initiative" Evander was labeled an "impact" school and slated to be phased out not long afterward. Evander Childs closed its doors in June 2008.
