Fearnet channel[edit]
Fearnet launched a high definition linear television channel known as Fearnet HD on October 31, 2010.[5] Fearnet originally planned on launching on October 1,[6] but the date was moved back due to their failure to reach any carriage agreements. Verizon FiOS was one the first carriers to add the linear Fearnet in December 2010.[7] Comcast added the channel to select markets in April 2011.[citation needed] Time Warner Cable launched it on May 11, 2011.[4] Cox Communications also added the channel to select markets in December 2011. As Comcast is part owner, this channel is only available regionally, but most markets still only have the On Demand service.
Sponsorships[edit]
FEARnet supported the US Tour of the British Extreme metal band Cradle of Filth, which started his Tour 2011 under the title "Fearnet and Decibel Presents: Creatures From The Black Abyss Tour" with Nachtmystium, Turisas and Daniel Lioneye.[8]
Original programs[edit]
FEARnet premiered its first original series Holliston, on April 3, 2012. The show stars Adam Green and Joe Lynch as two college graduates chasing the dream of becoming successful horror movie filmmakers while struggling to make ends meet in their jobs at a Boston cable access station.[9]
Funhouse[edit]
In August 2012, FEARnet began airing a 2 hour block of programming on Saturday and Sunday mornings called "Funhouse". Airing in the block is reruns of The Real Ghostbusters, Tales From the Cryptkeeper, Eerie, Indiana, and Dark Oracle.
