The song was set in a nightclub and picturised with Trisha Krishnan and Siddharth Narayan in the Tamil and Telugu version and Vivek Oberoi and Kareena Kapoor in Hindi. The music for the song was composed by popular musician A. R. Rahman and was sung by A. R. Rahman. Lyrics were provided by Gulzar. The song has a Paul Van Dyk style feel to it.
The same in Tamil, for the film Aayitha Ezhuthu in Tamil and Yuva in Telugu, was alternatively titled "Yakkai Thiri"and "Deham Thiri", respectively, albeit with repeated mentions of the word "Fanaa". The song was a grand success in Tamil, Hindi and Telugu. It was particularly enjoyed by many young people and became one of the highest grossing songs of the year
