Fderîck or F'dérick is a city in the north of Mauritania. Situated in a remote area of the Sahara desert, Fderîck was constructed in 1984 around the former French Fort Gouraud to exploit the area's iron deposits. Once the mineral is gathered from the mines, it is shipped by the Mauritania Railway to Zouérat.
