[edit] Club career

Having come through the ranks of giants FC Barcelona, Navarro was on the verge of replacing longtime leftback Sergi Barjuán, who had left for Atlético Madrid in 2002, until a serious knee injury finished off his chances with hometown club.[1][2] On November 3, 2002, he scored his only Barça goal, in a 1–1 draw at Racing de Santander.

After an uneventul six-month loan at Albacete Balompié in 2004, he was loaned again, this time to RCD Mallorca for the 2005–06 season. After a successful season, the Balearic Islands side decided to purchase Navarro on a permanent deal, and he was an undisputed first-choice from 2006–08.

On 18 June 2008, Navarro was bought by Sevilla FC, for a reported 5 million.[3]

[edit] International career

National team coach Luis Aragonés called Navarro for the friendly match against France on February 6, 2008. However, he did not enter the pitch, going on to make his international debut against United States on June 4, in a 1–0 friendly win.

Selected for UEFA Euro 2008, he appeared against Greece (2–1 win) in the group stage, as Spain emerged victorious in the tournament.

Previously, Navarro played at the 1999 FIFA U-17 World Championship in New Zealand.[4]
