| Description |
English: Calver Mill This is a magnificent building. You can see two stair towers here at each end - doubtless an original feature. The two ground level archways that probably led to waterwheels are not visible from this low angle. These wheels were probably superseded by the later pair in the detached wheel-house. This is my personal guess - facts are always welcome.
This mill is very well screened by trees and unimpeded shots are very hard to come by. This view entailed much risky scrambling amongst prickly undergrowth and driftwood by a fast flowing river.
