Description

A cilium (plural cilia) is an organelle found in eukaryotic cells. Cilia are slender protuberances typically extending some 5–10 micrometers outwards from the cell body. There are two types of cilia: motile cilia, which constantly beat directionally, and non-motile—or primary—cilia, which typically serve as sensory organelles

Türkçe: Siliyer yapı bir birinden farklı yaklaşık 250 proteinden oluşmaktadır. Siliya merkezde olan bir birine protein köprü ile bağlı ikili tübülün ve bunun etrafında bulunan 9 çift tübül’den oluşur. Aksonemler siliya ve flajellaların merkezinde bulunan yapılardır. Periferdeki her çift A ve B tübülünden komşu tübül’e uzanan bir çift dynein kolu bulunmaktadır. İçerideki iç dynein kolu, dıştaki dış dynein kolu olarak adlandırılır. Nexin periferdeki çif tübülleri birbirine bağlar. Işınsal uzantılar merkezdeki çift tübül yapısını periferdeki tübüllere bağlar ve yapıya sağlamlık kazandırır. Işınsal uzanımlar baş ve radial uzantı kısımlardan oluşmaktadır. Yapının tamamı plasma membranı tarafından sarılmıştır. Siliyayı hücreye bağlayan kök kısmı yapısal olarak farklıdır. Bu kısım santral çift olmaksızın 9 periferik triplet’ten oluşmaktadır.
