Summary

Description
English: Small set of wrought-iron gates leading from Piccadilly into Green Park, forming the northern end of avenue leading across Green Park to the Canada Gate and Victoria memorial on the other side. 28/02/2010. Possibly the gates were erected as part of the celebrations of Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee, but possibly parts of the gate were only put in place by 1914, originating from other locations (such as Devonshire House and Turnham Green). The sphinxes may be by John Cheere or Henry Cheere, and may be originally from Chiswick House. Some useful links: [1], [2], [3], [4], [5], [6].
