Fair use in Hollywood blacklist[edit]

Though subject to copyright, the image linked here is claimed by Wikipedia editor DCGeist to be used under fair use as:

  1. it is a single screenshot from a feature-length film documenting a historically significant event;
  2. it is of much lower resolution than the original (copies made from it will be of very inferior quality);
  3. its use does not limit the film copyright holder's ability to sell or promote the film in any way;
  4. its use does not limit the original rights holder of the image's ability to sell or promote the image in any way;
  5. it is being used only for informational purposes; and
  6. its inclusion in Hollywood blacklist adds significantly to the article because it illustrates the historical significance of the blacklist and of the ten men known as the "Hollywood Ten" who were its first victims.
