Nederlands: Een rijdende auto onder spiegeling. Normale vectoren, zoals de positie van de auto ten opzichte van een gegeven oorsprong, transformeren normaal. Maar pseudovectoren, zoals het impulsmoment van de wielen wisselen van teken. Aangezien het impulsmoment van de wielen loodrecht staat op het spiegelvlak verandert deze dus niet. Dit reflecteert het feit dat de wielen nog altijd vooruit draaien. Ik heb een politieauto gekozen omdat de asymmetrie van de striping duidelijk laat zien dat er sprake is van spiegeling.
Deutsch: Ein fahrendes Personenkraftwagen unter Spiegelung. Normale vektoren, sowie die lage des Wagens bezüglich ein gegebener Ursprung, transformieren wie üblich. Pseudovektoren jedoch, wie das Impulsmoment der Räder, wechseln das Zeichen. Da das Impulsmoment der Räder wagerecht auf der Spiegelfläche steht ändert sich dies also nicht. Das entspricht daß die Räder noch immer vorwärts drehen. Ich habe ein Polizeiwagen gewählt weil die Asymmetrie der Striping deutlich sehen lasst daß es sich hier um Spiegelung handelt.
English: A driving vehicle under reflection. Normal vectors, like the position of the car with respect to a given origin, transform normally. But pseudovectors, like the angular momentum of the tires, change sign. Since the angular momentum om the tires is perpendicular to the mirror plane, it doesn't change. This reflects the fact that the tires are still turning forward. I have chosen a police car because the asymmetry in the striping clearly shows that we're dealing with reflection here.
Français : Un véhicule pour montrer l'effet de la réflexion. Des vecteurs normaux, comme la position de la voiture avec le respect d'une origine donnée, se transforment normalement. Mais des pseudo-vecteurs, comme le moment angulaire des roues, changent de signe. Étant donné que le moment angulaire des roues est perpendiculaire à la surface du miroir, il ne change pas. Cela reflète le fait que les roues sont toujours orientée vers l'avant. J'ai choisi un véhicule de police car l'asymétrie des bandes montre ici clairement l'effet de la réflexion.
