Aline from here runs W. into Agra,distant 15 m. (see p. 170). Visitorsto Agra book to the Fort Station.Some of the E.I.R. trains run to this,and some diverging at the JumnaBridge junction to Agra City, reachedby the new Strachey Bridge of 9spans of 154 ft., clear. As the bridgeover the Jumna is approached, asplendid view of the Taj and the Forton the opposite bank is obtained. 150 m. Shekohabad junction forline to 66 m. Farukhabad. 184 m. Etawah station * (r.)^D.B., properly, Itawah, from Jut,a brick (42,000 inhabitants),headquarters of the district of thesame name, is said to have beenfounded about five centuries ago bySangram Singh, a Chauhan chief,descer.ded from the famous PrithviRaja, King of Delhi (p. 20S).
