Designed by the Montana District of the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod ca. 1945. This digital copy of the image was created by Jason Menagh of the Montana District in 2006, for use in a 60th anniversary presentation at the 2006 Montana District Convention. Permission has been given to use this image on Wikipedia.

I assert that this image may be included as a fair use of the logo in this article, even though it is subject to copyright or trademark, for the following reasons:

1. It is a logo of the organization, used by the nonprofit English Wikipedia for identification purposes
2. It is a low-resolution rendering of only one of the logos in the copyrighted collection
3. It is not being used as part of negative criticism of the organization, but as part of an informational article about the organization
4. It is not being used in a way that, to a reasonable reader, falsely portrays an official connection between the Wikimedia Foundation and the Missouri Synod
5. It does not affect the potential market for the logos, which are distributed free of charge
6. Permission has been granted by the creator of this specific image to be used on Wikipedia
