Pasadena Tournament of Roses chariot race, 1911
Photograph of chariot races at the Pasadena Tournament of Roses celebration which, for many years, was a regular feature of the festival on New Year's Day, 1911. Two four-horse chariots are rounding a curve in the foreground. A large number of people crowd a grandstand in the background as well as the area just outside of the racing track. An American flag is flying in the distance. Mountains are visible in the background.
