first you cut one piece of wood in two. and after that you do like it is on the pictuers. But you must do it right.

1. A groove was made in a piece of wood. 2. A slab of graphite was inserted. 3. The slab was broken off. 4. The pencil was sealed with a slat of wood. 5. The pencil is finished.

A. A round piece of wood is cut in two. B. The rod of Conté lead is inserted. C. The pieces are glued together.
