DescriptionRussian acoustic guitar with seven steel strings.JPG
English: A Russian acoustic guitar with seven strings that was manufactured by a cooperative in Leningrad in the Soviet Union (St. Petersburg, Russia).
The guitar's machinery is similar to that of a traditional acoustic-guitar (with nylon strings). However, the Russian guitar uses seven strings for an open G tuning G-B-D-G-B-D-G, which is approximately a major-thirds tuning.
The picture shows steel strings (recommended by a seller of steel strings). With the excessive tension, the bridge snapped off a few months after this picture was taken. The neck lacks a truss rod, which also suggests that nylon strings are standard.
