Description
English: The Great Lakes Historical Society, the Cleveland Underwater Explorers (CLUE), the Institute of Nautical Archaeology, and Texas A&M studied the remains of the Anthony Wayne, a mid-19th century side-wheel passenger and cargo steamer built in 1837 which sunk in 1850. Its underwater about six miles north of Vermilion, Ohio. The wreck was found in 2006 by Tom Kowalczk, a member of CLUE. It is thought to be the oldest Lake Erie steamboat shipwreck.
