English: A thigh pad, also known as a thigh guard, worn by batsmen in cricket. The guard is worn on the thigh on the side facing the bowler (eg: a right handed batsman would wear it on the left thigh), for protection from impact with the ball. It is usually worn under the clothing. The upper strap is worn around the waist, while the lower strap goes around the lower thigh.
