The Flag of the City of Red Deer was adopted by Red Deer City Council on 6 June 1977. The official dedication ceremony was held on 26 August 1977.
The coat of arms of the City of Red Deer is centred on the flag. The federal government is represented on the flag by the maple leaf and the red and white colours. The wild rose on the blue background represents Alberta.
