Design Green-yellow-green triband with red triangle next to hoist and two black five-pointed stars in the yellow stripe

The flag of São Tomé and Príncipe, although in the Pan-African colours, is derived from that of the Liberation Movement. The two black stars express the unity of the two islands, while the red represents the struggle for independence.
