Food grade mineral oil is a petroleum-based mineral oil that is either added to food product or used on food processing equipment. It may be added to food products as a substitue for fat or used as a lubricant in enema preparations.
It is also used on cooking utinsils, such as wooden cutting boards or tin greasing during baking.
The maximum daily intake is calculated to be about 100 mg of which some 80 mg are contributed from its use on the machiner in the baking industry
