Forbes Riley is an american television host, entrepreneur, author, spokesperson, motivational keynote speaker, and life coach. She has appeared as a TV host on such networks as ESPN, Fit TV, TLC, Animal Planet, ABC Family and FOX, and for the past 18 years has been a regular guest on live home shopping networks like HSN, QVC, QVC London, and The Shopping Channel. As a fitness professional she's co-hosted alongside Jack LaLanne, Bruce Jenner, Cory Everson, Tony Horton, Joe Theismann and Jake "Body by Jake" Seinfeld.

[edit] Early life

Forbes grew up in Long Island, NY, with her parents and younger sister, making her TV debut at the age 16 with Bob Hope on NBC in the Miss Teenage America Pageant. She went on to the University of Rochester, where she graduated in three years with two degrees, the first in Political Science with a minor in History, and the second in Film Studies with a minor in Communication.

Shortly after graduation, she played the lead in Splatter University (1984). After that, she worked on Broadway as a dancer with the American Dream Machine and combined that with a career in hosting.

Riley has appeared in various American television shows such as 24, The Pretender, Picket Fences, and The Practice, she is also a host on several television series such as The X-Games on ESPN, Essentials on TLC, and the Zig & Zag Dog Game Show on Animal Planet. She spent five years as the original Fitness Host on Fit TV and the Cable Health Club, as well as hosting multiple series on ABC Family, Pax-TV and MyNetwork TV.

Forbes is relentless in her passion to bring affordable, high-quality fitness, health and beauty products to consumers worldwide. In an industry that is seeing more and more celebrities on live home shopping networks - like Mary J. Blige, Tori Spelling, Martha Stewart, Kelly Ripa, Wolfgang Puck, Susan Lucci, and even Liza Minnelli; Forbes has built a solid following of “Jane Main Street” consumers that know and trust the products she represents. Her ebullient personality, charm and sincerity led Bill Geist of CBS Sunday Morning to dub her "the Julia Roberts of Infomercials". In 2007, she was recognized by the Electronic Retailers Association (ERA) as the Best Female Presenter of the Year. In 2010, she was inducted into the National Fitness Hall of Fame and received two more top honors at the ERA Moxie Awards Gala - “Best Female Presenter of the Year” and “Best Live Shopping On-Air Guest" for her work on HSN”.

Forbes is the co-founder and CEO of Midvale Direct, LLC which offers consultation to inventors and companies looking to develop their products and bring them to market by focusing on television advertising campaigns. The Forbes Riley brand of products includes health and fitness, beauty, lifestyle, and clothing. In 2012 she opened the Forbes Riley Studio in St. Petersburg, FL; an international hub for inventors, infomercial projects, and executive coaching to individuals and corporations.

Forbes launched her branded, hand-held fitness product SpinGym on May 27, 2009 on Discovery's Pitchmen. SpinGym has been endorsed by various celebrities such as Tori Spelling, Gilles Marini, Tony Dovolani and Charlotte Ross.

Forbes, along with her husband and their twins, divide their time between Los Angeles and Tampa Bay.
