Société de l'audiovisuel extérieur de la France (SAEF) or Audiovisuel extérieur de la France (AEF), formerly France Monde is a holding company which manages the major public French media groups which broadcast or publish internationally. The three targets of this reform measure are Radio France Internationale (RFI), France 24, and TV5MONDE. It is expected that the combined funding, plus additional advertising revenue, would total € 400 million. According to President Nicolas Sarkozy, the SAEF would serve as an alternative to CNN or Al Jazeera[1][2].
