Francisc Vaştag (Romanian pronunciation: [ˈfrant͡ʃisk ˈvaʃtaɡ], Hungarian: Vastag Ferenc; born November 26, 1969 in Reşiţa, Caraş-Severin) was the first Romanian boxer to win the supreme belt in his category. His victory greatly stimulated boxing in Romania. The champion boxer Adrian Diaconu said that he considers Vaştag to be a brother and mentor.
