Frankfort High School is a high school in Short Gap, West Virginia that houses over 600 students from Ridgeley, Short Gap, Ft. Ashby, Wiley Ford, and Carpendale. The school mascot is the falcon and the school colors are Columbia blue and silver.
The current principal is Joseph Riley and the current vice principal is Kelly Haines.

Frankfort High School was built as a result of the consolidation of Fort Ashby High School and Ridgeley High School. The first graduating class was 1977. The Frankfort High School football team made history in 1990 when they finished the regular season undefeated and unscored upon (shutting all 10 teams out by a combined score of 388-0.) The Frankfort High School baseball team has reached the AA State Championship three times in the school's history. Their first appearance came in 1981 losing to St. Mary's. The Falcons reached the State Final again in 1988 defeating Wayne in a 5-0 shutout. This is the first recorded shutout in West Virginia AA State Championship history. The most recent Final appearance came in 2001 losing to Winfield in a 3-2 heartbreaker.
The year before the consolidation of the two schools, Ridgeley High School had been state champions in football. Fort Ashby High School had no football team. Initially, the county had no money for a football stadium and intended to open the school without one. The local community found this unacceptable. Donations were gathered to pay for construction of a stadium. Materials were donated and, in the Summer of 1976, hundreds of locals donated their time and constructed the new Frankfort football stadium by hand with local construction companies providing equipment. During the construction, a stray dog hung around the site the entire time. Those building the stadium adopted the dog and named her Paige (after the president of the school board at the time) and made her the unofficial mascot of the project. The dog stayed at the school until her death as the mascot for Frankfort High School. The Falcons basketball team expects to win all games in 2011-2012 season.
