Fremont–Daly City line
The Fremont–Daly City line is a Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) line from Fremont station to Daly City station, in the San Francisco Bay Area. The line has 19 stations in Fremont, Union City, Hayward, San Leandro, Oakland, San Francisco, and Daly City. All of its track is shared with other BART lines.
BART maps have always shown this line green, but no one refers to BART lines by color. It may be called the Fremont line.
Due to an electrical fire at the Hayward Maintenance Yard on May 10, 2008, BART temporarily moved the Richmond–Fremont line's south terminus to Bay Fair station weekdays and Saturdays. Richmond–Fremont passengers had to transfer between the Richmond–Fremont line and the Fremont–Daly City line. All trains had to slow as they pass by the yard as repairs were being made. Full service was restored on July 14, 2008.
As part of BART's Warm Springs extension project and first phase of the Silicon Valley extension project, this line will be extended to Warm Springs/South Fremont station in 2015 and then to Berryessa station in San Jose in 2016-2018. Plans call for the line to be eventually extended to Santa Clara station.
