Freshly Squeezed Music (AKA Freshly Squeezed) is an independent record label and music publisher based in Brighton, England and founded in 2005.[1]

The label evolved from Club Montepulciano and Club Montepulciano Recordings, which ran from 1993 to 2004.[2] Freshly Squeezed specialises in dance-orientated vintage-influenced electronica with elements of jazz, latin, ska, mod and pop music. More recently the label became known for pioneering the sound of Electro Swing. Their roster includes a diverse range of artists with releases by The Correspondents (band), Swing Republic, LEMON (artist), The Voodoo Trombone Quartet, The Pinker Tones, Foxgluv, Don Air, Lodekka, Dodo, Jem Stone, Nick Hollywood, Stereo de Luxe, and a series of compilations. Freshly Squeezed Music also manages the back-catalogue of Club Montepulciano Recordings.[3]

In 2009 the label became the first UK record label to release an Electroswing compilation with the first of the series White Mink : Black Cotton (Electro Swing versus Speakeasy Jazz) which went on to make the UK download charts and became a hugely influential series described by MIXMAG as "Electro Swings first landmark moment".[4][5][6]

Freshly Squeezed was described as a "Purveyor of future cult classics" by The Independent in 2007.[7]

In addition to the label, Freshly Squeezed also set up a sister publishing company in 2007 and music from the label has appeared in numerous Films and trailers including Knocked Up, License To Wed, Havanna Nights (Dirty Dancing 2) and Nancy Drew, TV including Ugly Betty[8], The Paper (including the theme tune), Ola Chica (theme tune - Spain), The Apprentice, Davina McCall's Pre and Post Natal Workout. Advertising including Shredded Wheat, Johnsons, Walls, Nike and computer games including Little Big Planet on the Sony Playstation featuring Stereo de Luxe's 'Bouchez' and The Voodoo Trombone Quartet's 'Voodoo Juju'.

Freshly Squeezed is also now a weekly 2 hour radio show hosted by label boss Nick Hollywood* on Brighton's Juice FM 107.2 and archived at TotallyRadio.com and Mixcloud.com. The show features new and pre-release Electro Swing as well as the finest in vintage and vintage-influenced sound; remixed, remastered or rewound...
