The system uses the following codes for four-digit Track IDs to identify which line at any location is referred to.
[edit] First number - Track Direction
- 1 Up
- 2 Down
- 3 Reversible / Bi-directional
- 4 Merry Go Round Loop
[edit] Second number - Track Use
- 1 Main or Fast etc.
- 2 Slow or Local or Relief etc.
- 3 Goods
- 4 Single line
- 5 Loop
- 6 Terminal or Bay
- 7 Crossover
- 8 Other or Engine etc.
- 9 Single Siding
[edit] 3rd & 4th number - Track Number
Usually numbered sequentially. It can be any number 00 to 99 inclusive.
