Gauhati Medical College Students Union (GMCSU)is the only representative body of the students, was first formed in 1961. Every year, the General Body Members of the GMCSU elect an Executive Committee.
Some of the several functions/festivities organized by GMCSU are:
- Freshers Social - every year, to welcome the newly admitted MBBS batch
- Annual College Week for Sports and Cultural Activities.
- College Anniversary each year on the 20th September, the foundation day of the Gauhati Medical College.
- Annual Interclass Cricket Tournament.
- Blood Donation Rally, Cleanliness Drives, Tree Plantation Drives, and Health Check up Camps.
