Gadsden High School (GHS), formerly known as Valley High School, is a public high school in the city of Anthony, New Mexico. Gadsden High is part of the Gadsden Independent School District. Gadsden's colors are maroon and gold. Of the four high schools in the Gadsden School District, Gadsden High has the largest student population.
Though located in Anthony, Gadsden High also serves as a high school for the surrounding towns of Mesquite, Vado, Berino, La Mesa, San Miguel, Chamberino, and La Union.
[edit] Namesake
The school is named for the Gadsden Purchase, mainly because the school and the surrounding area mark the eastern-most tip of the 29,670-square-mile (76,800 km2) land acquisition.
