Integrated Development Environments for creating games are integrated development environments (IDEs) which provide features such as diagrams and a windowing environment for the computer game creation process. You build the game with the game IDE which may incorporate a game engine or call it externally.

This is in distinction from domain-specific entertainment languages, where all is needed is a text editor. This is a distinction from integrated development environments which are more general, and may take longer to develop games in.
