The Gandhi Memorial International School (GMIS) was founded in 1950, and is an international school in Jakarta, Indonesia. The students of grades 1 to 12 moved to a new campus in 2004 located in Kemayoran (Central Jakarta), while the old campus houses the Pre-School. GMIS is a hub for over 2000 students from around the globe from more than 50 countries. A majority of the students come from India, Indonesia and South Korea. GMIS was one of the first schools in Indonesia to gain the status of an IB world school.
The school offers its students learning options from Nursery, PYP, MYP, IGCSE, O Level Science and Commerce, and the Full International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma. The GMIS follows the IB curriculum. Mr. Ashok Pal Singh is the principal.

The GMIS is accredited by the University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate (IGCSE, O Level and A Level Examinations), and the Board of Secondary Education, Association of Indian Universities, Australian Music Examinations Board (Melbourne), University of Delhi and the University of Mumbai. GMIS is authorised to deliver the IB DIploma. According to the Jakarta Globe, the school ranks 28 out of 100 for tax evasion.[1]

- Financial investors Phatak and Bhatia - Phatak's investment firm (PHTX Financial) posted record profits in 2010, and is in process of purchasing a cricket team for the 2013 IPL season.
- Rana - according to Forbes Magazine he is the richest NRI in the Southern Hemisphere.
- Nadine Ames - won the Ms. Puteri Indonesia contest in 2010.
- Dewi Sandra - Indonesian actress and singer.
[edit] Extracurricular activities
All GMIS students take part in extracurricular activities. Each grade presents its own annual play right from the nursery to grade 12. The school hosts inter-school sports and activities.

The school has a library, computer labs, music, seminar rooms, and classrooms. The school has a three hundred seated auditorium, which features acoustic and heuristic equipment and cinematic type lighting. The cafeteria offers Indonesian, Indian and South Korean Cuisine. Wi-fi access provide the internet to students who have laptops and tablet PCs. The swimming pool forms a part of all Physical Education activities and the new wing features classrooms, science labs and rooms for the Performing Arts Drama classes.

GMIS has been in the spotlight for not paying tax to the government.[1] The school was criticized for concealing the total amount of money it made. It remains unresolved.
