Ganeden Biotech, Inc. is a privately held consumer healthcare company based in Mayfield Heights, Ohio. It is the largest seller of over-the-counter probiotics in the United States through its Digestive Advantage and Sustenex brand line of products.

Ganeden Biotech was founded in 1997 after its Chief Scientific Officer, Sean Farmer, identified a delivery system for lactic acid producing bacteria that overcomes the manufacturing, stability, and delivery challenges that previously inhibited the widespread use of Lactic Acid Bacteria (LAB).
In 2003 Ganeden launched a line of over-the-counter products under the brand names Digestive Advantage and Clearly Confident. Since launching the consumer product line in 2003 Ganeden has introduced 9 new products and sold nearly 400 million doses of its products through over 70,000 retail outlets. Ganeden sold most of its over the counter line of supplements to Schiff Nutrition International in mid-20011.
Ganeden Biotech through Ganeden Labs licenses its patented probiotic bacteria, GanedenBC30 (Bacillus coagulans GBI-30, 6086), for use in commercial food and beverage applications, functional foods, medical food products, dietary supplements, nutraceuticals and in animal health industries.

- A randomized, double-blind, parallel-group, placebo-controlled clinical trial clinical showed that Bacillus coagulans, the specific bacterial strain inside GanedenBC30, was shown to significantly improve abdominal pain and bloating in patients with IBS[1]
- A controlled clinical trial showed that Bacillus coagulans increased the immune response to viral challenge.[2]

- Bacillus coagulans has been added by the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) to their Qualified Presumption of Safety (QPS) list.[3]
- GanedenBC30 received self-affirmed GRAS (Generally Recognized As Safe) status based on the assessment of scientific safety studies by an independent panel of experts.[4]

"Ganeden" is a conjunction of two Hebrew words: "Gan," meaning “garden” and "Eden" – i.e., "The Garden of Eden” from the biblical Book of Genesis.(Gen 2:4-3:26) The concept behind Ganeden is that in The Garden of Eden (“Gan Eden” in Hebrew), there was no sickness or disease. It was a purely healthy existence.
