Garry Breen (born 17 March 1989 in Kilkenny) is an Irish footballer currently playing for Portadown in the IFA Premiership.

[edit] Club career

Breen started his career playing for Fort Rangers in Kilkenny, and moved to Dublin to play for Belvedere in 2003. After winning two All-Ireland medals with the club he moved to England at the age of 16 to join Manchester City.[1]

He was signed by League One side Hereford United on 1 July 2008.

However, he left the club by mutual consent on 3 February 2009 having failed to make a competitive appearance for the club during his seven month spell.

He moved to Galway United for the 2009 season and made 33 appearances for the Tribesmen scoring 3 goals in the process.

In February 2010 he signed for Dundalk, linking up with former manager Ian Foster .[2] After struggling to find constant form with Dundalk he had not been offered a contract for the 2011 season and subsequently signed for Portadown on January 7.

[edit] International honours

Breen has also been capped for Ireland at several youth levels, and played for Irelands Under 21s, who he played his first match for on 19 August 2008, coming on for Darren Dennehy at half time against Austria.[3]
On 26 May 2010, Breen made his U23 début starting the game against England C.[4]
