Before joining Night Ranger, he played for a band called The Pack with Steve Isham of Autograph. Matt Sorum, later of Guns N' Roses, The Cult and Velvet Revolver was also a member of the band. Curly Smith of Jo Jo Gunne and Boston and Pete Comita of Cheap Trick formed the rhythm section.
