Chris Collingwood, (born in 1967) is an American singer, songwriter, and founding member of the power pop band Fountains of Wayne. Collingwood's major influences are The Beatles, The Zombies, The Hollies, Aztec Camera, Squeeze, and Blue Öyster Cult.[1]

Collingwood grew up in Sellersville, Pennsylvania.[2] He graduated from The Hill School in Pottstown, Pa. He lives with his wife in Northampton, Massachusetts. The couple married in 1996.

Collingwood has admitted to having trouble with alcohol, even stating that his heavy drinking resulted in his having only contributed three songs to the band's fourth studio album, Traffic and Weather. He has been sober since 2007.

According to Cry One Tear, a Chris Collingwood Fan Site, Chris has material readied (and even recorded) for a solo album.[3] There is no confirmed release date for the solo project.

He is a fan of comedian George Carlin and Vanity Fair writer Christopher Hitchens.
