Govind Ballabh Pant Engineering College (GBPEC) is an autonomous State Government Higher Technical Institution. It was created in 1989 to honour the great Indian Freedom Fighter Padma Ratna Shri[citation needed]. Govind Ballabh Pant. The institute is located in the Garhwal Himalayas, at a height of 1800m (approx 7000 ft.) above sea level. Currently[when?], the college provides undergraduate and graduate courses.

The College is affiliated to Uttarakhand Technical University , Dehradoon .It is located about 12 km from Pauri and is about 30 km from Dev Prayag.

The principal of the college is Col J.S.Virk.

The Institution currently offers courses in MCA , M. Tech, B. E.

The Institution currently has eight departments: five in Engineering and three in Sciences and Applied Sciences.

Admission is open for Engineering Departments through All India Engineering Entrance Examinations (AIEEE) which conducts an entrance exam at all India Level, passing through you can join the college. 85% of seats are reserved for candidates who are domicile of Uttrakhand.Admissions for the Departments in Sciences/Applied Sciences are open through Uttrakhand Technical University.
